BIOL 101 Introductory Biology This course is an introduction to the study of life, at the molecular, cellular, and whole organism levels. It surveys cell structure and function, the principles of genetics, and the diversity of living organisms, including how they grow, how they evolve and adapt, and how they interact with each other and with their environment. Through observation, experimentation, and interpretation of the living world, students develop an understanding of the biological functions that support life. The biological world is examined with particular attention to issues of greater contemporary relevance and impact.
